Course Description:

Annual professional development workshop for high school teachers teaching dual credit CS1112 Computational Thinking and Problem Solving (or related courses). Includes a general discussion of the course and teacher feedback and focused topics such as:

  • Extendable student work
  • Effective coding strategies
  • Use of AI in the classroom

 

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the workshop, teachers should have had the opportunity to address any concerns or issues with the course, develop ways to improve the course, and learn how to effectively use AI tools in the course.

 

Prerequisites:

  • None (This course is intended for high school teachers teaching UI’s dual credit course CS1112 Computational Thinking and Problem Solving.)
