Course Description

ALCP English for Engineering

This course develops academic and real-world speaking skills through interactive online activities, guided practice, and performance-based assessments. First-year, non-native English-speaking engineering students engage with engineering texts, lectures, diagrams, data visualizations, and problem-solving scenarios while developing academic reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, and critical-thinking skills in this 8-week, 2-hour per week, non-credit, asynchronous EAP course. Through weekly integrated tasks, students learn to communicate technical information clearly and effectively in academic and professional contexts.
