In this hands-on course, you'll harness the power of Python to explore, clean, and visualize real-world datasets. We get straight to the tools data professionals rely on every day—from wrangling spreadsheets to building live dashboards that update in real time.
What You'll Learn:
- Pandas DataFrames: Load, filter, and transform data using the industry-standard Pandas library.
- Working with Files: Read data in from and write results out to common spreadsheet formats.
- Data Visualization: Create clear, compelling charts and graphs that communicate your findings.
- Real-Time Dashboards: Build live visualizations using Grafana to monitor data as it changes.
- Capstone Project: Investigate a real dataset, identify anomalies and points of interest, visualize results, and automate the process for reuse on future data.
Course Logistics:
- FORMAT: Hybrid (Simultaneous Live In-Person & Online Zoom session).
- DURATION: 1/2 Day
- REQUIREMENTS: Bring your own laptop for the in-person session.
- ELIGIBILITY: Open to all learners age 18+. See Pre-requisites below.
- LOCATION: Hedlund Building Room 231 — North Idaho College Campus, 420 North College Drive, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814
- PARKING: Parking is free on campus during the summer. Parking on the dike outside the building (one way) is also free.
- ZOOM: ZOOM link will be accessed in CANVAS once registration is complete.
- BONUS ACCESS: Zoom recordings will be available to review if you missed something or want a review.

Prerequisites
- Basic Python programming familiarity OR CS 111C Introduction to Python course.
- 18 years of age or older.
