Vectorworks for Absolute Beginners offers a comprehensive introduction to Vectorworks drafting and its many tools and workflows. Designed for learners with a wide range of backgrounds—from those familiar with drafting practices to those new to theatre and design—this online course builds a solid foundation in industry-standard drafting. Offered through an open online platform, the course allows anyone to learn anytime, anywhere, with time to explore concepts, practice skills, and deepen your understanding under the guidance of experienced instructor and theatre technical designer.
Taught by Lovanni Gomez, a full-time technical theatre supervisor, and draftsperson, this course will guide you through initial discovery phase, to beginning 3D modeling techniques you can use to engage and tell a story. Whether you're hoping to work in stage, screen, or other productions, this “gateway course” is your first step. No prior experience or technical know-how is required. All are welcome to discover the power of the Vectorworks platform.
