Course Description
By successful completion of this course, youth will learn:
- Classify feed ingredients into nutrient groups and understand nutritional requirements based on growth stage
- Learn the differences, parts, and functions of ruminant and monogastric digestive systems
- Identify vocabulary and nutritional needs of monogastric animals during different growth stages
- Recognize and assign body condition scores for the four species
- To apply what they've learned through a 4-H project
