Course Description

By successful completion of this course, youth will learn:

  • How to provide enough feed and track weight to help the animal reach market weight
  • Identify the five necessary feed nutrients and animal needs to grow properly
  • Recognize the feed ingredients found in a feed ration and understand how to read a feed label
  • To apply what they've learned through a 4-H project

Course Requirements:

You need to complete The Course Hours Log to show that you have completed the required 60 hours. Please log all your activities that you do for this course. It will include doing the lessons, completing any check for understanding, working on your project/exhibit, 4-H club meetings, any learning activities you do in relation to this course and project, your time to prepare for your demonstration, your interview and completing your record book. You may find other activities not included in this list that contribute to your course.
