General Physics I covers kinematics, forces and dynamics, conservation laws, thermodynamics, waves. PHYS 111 is the first part of a year-long algebra-based introductory physics sequence. PHYS 111 and 112, together, provide a broad survey of classical and modern physics.

UI students: Carries no credit after PHYS 211 Engineering Physics I
NOTE: This course does not include a lab component.
REQUIRED: Exam proctor required for this course.
Learner Outcomes
