Course Description

Intermediate Algebra covers select topics in algebra with an emphasis on solving equations and inequalities. Topics include exponents and radicals, linear and quadratic equations, simple systems of equations, linear and absolute value inequalities, arithmetic of polynomials with basic factorization techniques, representations (formulas, graphs), and applications.

UI students: carries no credit after Math 143 Pre-calculus I: Algebra.

REQUIRED: Exam proctor required for this course.

Learner Outcomes

The primary objective of this course is to help you become competent (and confident) at solving algebra problems both in the textbook setting and a “real-life” setting. Additionally, the course will prepare you for higher math courses.
