Course Description

This course is designed to support and train IDLA educators in the best practices in online education through various technology applications. Under the umbrella of best practices in online education, course participants will explore standards, teaching models, assessments, and technology. The course will allow participants to observe and experience teaching models that effectively integrate technology. In addition, educators will be encouraged and supported in their development of teaching plans.

 

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • identify best practices in online education.
  • participate in live discussions with online educators to improve educational practices within the online environment.
  • identify at least key features or tools within the new LMS that support instruction.
  • demonstrate the ability to complete common tasks in the new LMS.
  • recall information given from IDLA Departments on changes for the upcoming school year related to positional duties in the organization.
  • reflect on the past school year to identify personal and professional growth areas.
  • create one (1) personal and/or professional goal for the next school year using reflective practices.

Section Notes

This year’s conference focuses on implementing change and fostering innovation while upholding best practices in online learning. Sessions will highlight practical strategies for working within a new LMS environment, while ensuring strong support for student academic success and alignment with IDLA policies and procedures.

  • Part I: June 1 - June 30, 2026
  • Part 2: July 6 - July 31, 2026

Participants are expected to complete all course completion requirements, including graded lessons and deliverables for both the June and July asynchronous materials, complete their 2026-2027 IPLP goal, and submit their conference exit ticket, achieving a 80% or better on all coursework.
