Proven Behavioral Practices is a one-day, workshop style training that provides attendees with the knowledge and tools to implement four evidence-based practices (prompting, reinforcement, visual supports, and data-based decision making) to support educators in preventing, teaching, and responding to behavior.

Course Location/Format
This is a hybrid (part face-to-face, part online) course using the Idaho Training Clearinghouse Learning Management System (LMS) at the Center on Disabilities and Human Development at the University of Idaho. - Moscow – February 19, 2025
- Coeur d’Alene, ID – February 21, 2025
- Idaho Falls – February 25, 2025

- Boise – March 6, 2025
- Caldwell – March 7, 2025
- Completion of the Course Requirements as listed below
Course Objectives:
Participants will:
- gain understanding of visual supports as an EBP, how to develop and utilize visual supports, and applications within a prevent/teach/respond framework.
- understand prompting as an EBP, how to implement and fade prompt strategies, and applications within prevent/teach/respond framework.
- gain knowledge of reinforcement as an EBP, how to choose and deliver reinforcement, and applications within a prevent/teach/respond framework.
- understand data-based decision making as an EBP, practice progress monitoring strategies and use data to guide instructional decisions.
Required Materials
Provided at face-to-face training.
Course Requirements
- Participation: Participants are required to attend the 1-day, face-to-face Proven Behavioral Practices training in their selected location.
- Quiz (20 points): Following the face-to-face training students must earn an 80% score on the final quiz in this module to pass the course. Quizzes can be retaken until passed.
- Survey: Participants are required to complete a satisfaction survey at the end of the course.
- Final assignment (100 points): Complete and submit a Behavior Goal Planning Form for the sample student Vern. Write and submit a response to ONE (1) of the following questions:
- How has understanding reinforcement changed your practice around teaching and responding to behavior?
- What are some ways you plan on increasing the amount of visual support you provide throughout your classroom/school?
- How can prompting support teaching new behavior?
- How are you planning on utilizing data collection and analysis in your daily work?
Grading
This is a Pass/Fail course. No incompletes will be given. Late work will not be accepted.
- Participants must earn an 80% (16/20) on the quiz to pass the course. The quiz can be retaken until passed.
- Participants must earn an 80% (80/100) on the final assignment to pass the course.
- Participants must complete the online course satisfaction survey to pass the course.
