Course Description

This professional development course, conducted by STEM Forged and sponsored by Idaho STEM Ecosystem & Idaho Workforce Development Council, includes a 3-hour interactive workshop and additional independent work. Tailored for educators interested in integrating AI into their teaching, the course covers AI fundamentals and hands-on training with the STEM Forged lesson plan platform.

During the workshop, participants will:

  • Explore AI tools to streamline lesson planning.
  • Learn how to align AI-generated lessons with Idaho state standards.
  • Begin curating high-quality lesson plans.

This course equips educators with the expertise to use the STEM Forged Lesson Plan Platform to dramatically reduce prep time. It allows them to dedicate more time to tailoring lessons for their students' unique needs while ensuring they meet high-quality education standards.

Learner Outcomes

Students will be able to:

Objective 1: Understand how AI tools can be used to streamline the lesson planning process.

Objective 2: Learn how to adapt AI-generated lesson plans to meet Idaho state education standards.

Objective 3: Build a collection of five well-designed, high-quality lesson plans.

Prerequisites

Must be an Idaho K-12 Public School Educator residing in Idaho.

To receive one Professional Development Credit, Students must first complete the 3-hour STEM Forged workshop and then the following:

  • Create five curated, high-quality lesson plans using the STEM Forged platform and submit to EcosySTEM.
  • Teach at least one of the created lessons.
  • Complete a pre- and post-workshop survey to assess their understanding and the effectiveness of the training.
  • Participate in one 30-minute online focus group to provide feedback and help improve the workshop experience.
